Expert Witness Attendance - £600

We understand the financial pressure tribunals can place on families.

Our expert witness fee is capped at £600 in total and is split into two separate payments to ensure fairness and transparency. We recognise that many local authorities (LAs) concede shortly before a tribunal, and we want to reflect this by showing fairness and understanding in our approach.

PART A) ADMINISTRATIVE DUTIES IN RUN UP TO TRIBUNAL - £300

This covers all of the admin work leading up to the hearing, including:

  • reviewing the tribunal bundle.

  • liaising with other professionals.

  • preparing necessary documentation including additional expert witness statements if required.

  • time spent corresponding with legal or SEND advisory teams.

This stage is required whether or not the case reaches the tribunal.

PART B) TRIBUNAL ATTENDANCE - £300 FULL DAY, £200 HALF DAY.

If the case concedes or settles before the tribunal date, you will not be charged the second amount. We hope as much as you do that the case concedes, and we will do our best to help this happen.

  • Full Day is £300

  • Half Day is £200

PLEASE NOTE: We can only be an expert witness if we have written your report for the SENDist tribunal or EHCP application or update.
